The entry period for the '07/08 Awards has now closed.
Winners will be announced at a ceremony in Wellington on September 23. Please check back here for details after this time.
There are five categories, with an overall Premier Award for the best of the best.
NB: Last year a ‘General’ category was included. The 2007/08 awards will again focus only on the five original categories, however the judging criteria have been expanded somewhat in order to fit a wide range of road safety initiatives.
The winner in each award category will receive a cash prize of $2000, with the overall Premier Award winner receiving an additional $3000 cash prize. One representative of the winning entry in each award category will receive free travel to and from the awards ceremony in Wellington.
This website provides complete information on the Awards, how to enter and the judging criteria for each award category. It includes an entry form and check list to accompany each entry. Full information is also available in a PDF of the brochure/entry form.
The Awards are funded by the Road Safety Trust and administered by Land Transport New Zealand. The Awards Organising Committee comprises representatives from the Road Safety Trust, Automobile Association, New Zealand Police, Land Transport New Zealand and Accident Compensation Corporation.
The Road Safety Trust is a Crown Entity that receives its funding from a share of the proceeds of personalised licence plate sales. Trustees are appointed by the Minister of Transport.
